Reality Therapy deliberately refuses the hunt for causes in childhood. The past is fixed and offers nothing you can act on; only present behavior can change. So therapy asks “What are you doing now, and is it working?” rather than “Why are you like this?” This mirrors the Buddhist practice to Return to the present through the five senses.
